About YIRA

●About YIRA

YIRA stands for the Yonezawa City International Relations Association
YIRA was established on March 17th, 1996, with the purpose of promoting mutual understanding and goodwill between people of different countries, and advancing international exchange among residents.


YIRA conducts the following activities:

 (1) Investigation and research concerning international exchange.
 (2) Collecting and distributing information about international exchange.
 (3) Promoting understanding of international exchange.
 (4) Activities supporting international residents.
 (5) Coordinating activities of international exchange groups and volunteers.
 (6) Other activities necessary to uphold the goals of the organization.



●Events & Activities for FY 2009

Objectives of Activities

To assist foreign residents of the city, as well as increase the awareness and interest of local residents towards international exchange, assistance, and multicultural coexistence through international understanding activities and exchange activities. YIRA also achieves to broaden relations between various civic groups involved with international relations and promote various activities related to international exchange in the community.
